Do I Need A Lover?

Image
Valentine's Day has always been celebrated every February 14 of every year. This is one of the many celebrations that the Filipinos are anticipating for, especially those who have a partner. The color red is often associated with Valentine's Day as it represents love and care. Flowers and chocolates are also famous gifts for one's boyfriend or girlfriend. But, do you really need a lover to enjoy Valentine's Day?           To be honest, there really isn't much to say about my experiences on this year's Valentine's Day. I do not have a lover, and I do not worry about my love life much because I believe that I am still not old enough for it. My parents wouldn't also allow me to have a lover or even let someone court me. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my Valentine's Day because of my friends. They are the ones that are making me feel loved and taken care of. One of my friends even gave me a gift and the rest greeted me "Happy ...

Kannawidan, Intay Rambakan!

Image
The Philippines is full of colorful festivities and celebrations. Some of the famous ones are Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, and Kannawidan Festival in Ilocos Sur. The Kannawidan festival is being celebrated to commemorate the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. This festival showcases the true culture, beliefs, and traditions of the Ilocanos. In this blog, I will accompany you in a journey where you can experience the Kannawidan festival. At the end of the blog, I will also state my opinion on the significance and importance of the Kannawidan Festival and the Philippine festivities in general.           This year, the Kannawidan Festival started on January 28 and ended on February 14, 2023. There were many activities and events conducted in the said festival. Some of these are fireworks display, bonsai exhibit, and battle of the bands. Many people attended the opening o...

It's More Fun in Vigan!

Image
The celebration for this year's Vigan City Fiesta (Conversion of St. Paul) and Longganisa Festival begun on January 18, 2023 and ended on January 28, 2023. The conducted activities were Zumba Night, Eagle Vision @30, Agriculture Day, Education Night, Cityhood Day, Social Services Night, Metro Vigan Dancesports Club and Balik Vigan Night, Vigan City Fiesta and ABC Night, SK/ BigueƱo Night, NGO and Partner's Night, and lastly, LGBTQIA+ Day.           The Longganisa Street Dancing Competition was conducted on January 22, 2023 at 3:00 PM. There were many contestants and all of them were good. The dancers' smiles and their lively dance steps accompanied with a lively music really made me amazed.            All of the groups performed great, but there were two who stood out and are awarded as best among all of the contestants. These are San Nicolas National High School (the champion for Ca...

Hard Times

Image
Difficult, exhausting, and disappointing, these are the words that sum up my second quarter. I encountered problems that I thought were unsolvable. And there were many obstacles that I barely got  through. I even faced one of my greatest fears - public speaking. The second quarter was such a hard time, but here I am, still  holding on, still striving to achieve my dreams.                 The second quarter is better compared to the first quarter because the lessons for each subject are less difficult, that's what I thought in the beginning of quarter two. But as the time progressed, the lessons for each subject became more and more difficult. More and more requirements were given to us. And some of our teachers even conducted surprise quizzes. We also conducted an extemporaneous speech in front of many people as one of the requirements for our English subject.        ...

A New Beginning

Image
Many people often associate the start of a year as an opportunity for a new beginning. People make a list of the things that they want to accomplish throughout the year and what they want to change. There are people who aim to improve their physical appearance and gain confidence through it. There are also people who want to achieve their best state of mental health. In contrast to the people who do the "new year, new me", there are also people who believe that even if it is not the start of a year, it is important that we keep on improving ourselves.           Last year, numerous memories were created and a lot of lessons have been learned. The highlights of my January 2022 were the conducted activities of the organization that I was a part of. Nothing much happened on February, I just watched movies and anime and started reading a novel. On March, I was just busy doing my modul...

Finally, Christmas is Here!

Image
Christmas has always been celebrated on the 25th of December of every year. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the people to physically be in contact with each other for the past two years. The face masks that we were using couldn't hide the disappointment that we have felt on the Christmas of the years of 2020 and 2021. The social distancing and other very tight protocols that the government implemented have made it worse. Thankfully, on the year 2022, COVID-19 restrictions were loosened, making holidays, like Christmas, more enjoyable.            On 2020 and 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic was severe, there were many cases and the world was in chaos. The use of face masks was implemented and social distancing was observed. The celebrations on these years were very boring because large social gatherings were prohibited. Fortunately,  many COVID-19 protocols were lifted on the year 2022. Social gatheri...

EstudyaNTREPRENEUR 2022

The Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Department, together with the STEP Club, launched the EstudyaNTREPRENEUR 2022 Bazaar on December 6, 2022. The said event has a theme of "Likas na Talento at Kasanayan: Tugon sa Katatagan at Pagharap sa Hamon ng Bagong Normal". Booths like Agriclture, ICT, Industriyal, and Pickle Making Booth, were created to give knowledge to the students who visited the bazaar. The event was also a way for the young entrepreneurs to improve their skills and earn money.            Me and my classmates enjoyed the bazaar. There were a lot of things that can be done inside the venue, there were games, food, and facts about Information and Communication Technology were displayed in the ICT Booth. TLE teachers were also present during the conduct of the event to guide their students in learning more about the different TLE specializations.            ...
