Finally, Christmas is Here!

        Christmas has always been celebrated on the 25th of December of every year. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the people to physically be in contact with each other for the past two years. The face masks that we were using couldn't hide the disappointment that we have felt on the Christmas of the years of 2020 and 2021. The social distancing and other very tight protocols that the government implemented have made it worse. Thankfully, on the year 2022, COVID-19 restrictions were loosened, making holidays, like Christmas, more enjoyable. 

        On 2020 and 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic was severe, there were many cases and the world was in chaos. The use of face masks was implemented and social distancing was observed. The celebrations on these years were very boring because large social gatherings were prohibited. Fortunately,  many COVID-19 protocols were lifted on the year 2022. Social gatherings like Christmas parties were finally allowed. Many vendors also opened their stalls and have probably earned a lot as the people missed going out and go shopping on Christmas season. Carnivals and many Christmas decorations could also be seen throughout the Christmas season. People also longed for the Misa de Gallo or the midnight mass that's why when the churches finally announced that it will be resumed, many people were overjoyed. 

        The past years have been so exhausting because of the pandemic and all of the bad stuff that happened. The Christmas celebration on the year 2022 was such a breath of fresh air. It was more enjoyable compared to the other years since the start of pandemic. The celebration felt like the years 2018 to 2019, people were truly happy. But let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas - honoring and celebrating the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. May the cases of COVID-19 continue to go down so that we can experience another magical Christmas on this year and on the years to come.
