A Wonderful Day In High School

        Have you ever dreamed of taking a break from this stressful student life? Have you dreamed of being free from those unending projects and hard-to-understand lessons? We, the students of Ilocos Sur National High School, were given a chance not only to take a break but also to show off our amazing talents and watch amazing performances from both students and teachers. In this blog post, I will share my experiences during a wonderful day at the ISNHS, the ISNHS's High School Day. 

        On March 25, 2023, the Ilocos Sur National High School celebrated its 121st founding anniversary by conducting an event for the students and teachers. This event is called "high school day." The year 2023 is the comeback of this celebration (since it couldn't be held during the peak of the pandemic). 


        The event has three parts: the thanksgiving mass, the program, and the field demonstration. Teachers and officers from several clubs and organizations attended the thanksgivingmass. The program has many components, but the awarding of retirees was the highlighted. At the start of the program, I was nervous because we were requested to perform in front of the participants since we are the champions of the grade 10 hip-hop competition this year. Personally, I think that our performance during the program did not turn out amazing but was just okay. I was also moved by the inspirational speech of the event's guest speaker, an alumna and now a lawyer. On the field demonstration, I was astounded by how well-synchronized the dancers for galaw pilipinas are; every movement they did was visually appealing. The festival dancers were equally spectacular. Following those performances, we returned to the stage as part of the hip-hop dancers. Dancing in front of so many people was both nerve-wracking and exciting.


        Life in high school is very stressful but packed with fun activities and unforgettable memories. I am certain that the ISNHS High School Day gave the students and teachers the joy that they deserve. May this celebration continue to provide happiness to ISNHS teachers, and students and their parents. May it also remind us to give gratitude and appreciation to all of the people who are behind this amazing school.
